The world’s best sim racers are lining up for their chance to take on some of the world’s best in actual race cars at next month’s Race Of Champions to be held at Sydney’s Accor Stadium, March 7-8.

eROC has been a part of the Race Of Champions format since 2018 and has been an annual highlight for on-line racers from around the world.

This year four eROC finalists will all go head-to-head with some of the world’s best on a spectacularside-by-side 1km asphalt track which will be hand crafted by a team of local and international engineers to ensure maximum speed and entertainment for the anticipated 50,000-strong crowd.

The winners will have the chance to take on some of the biggest names in the history of world motorsports including four-time F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel, nine-time World Rally Champion, Sebastien Loeb, 11-time X-Games gold medalist Travis Pastrana and seven-time Supercars champion Jamie Whincup.

Qualifying for this year’s eROC event begins today at 5pm Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time (AEDT) through the Assetto Corsa platform and continues until 10pm (AEDT), Monday February 17.

A second round will be held from Wednesday February 19 to Sunday February 23.

Racers will be required to set a time on an accurately reproduced historical stadium track from ROC history. Fast laps must be validated by screen recording and qualifying countries will be based on the residency/location of that racer.

Times from both qualifying rounds will be combined to find the fastest four sim racers, who will be invited for an all-expenses trip of a lifetime to Sydney.

An actual road-going driver’s licence is required to qualify and winners must be available to travel to Sydney from March 4-9 with flights, accommodation and driver lounge access provided to all four eROC final qualifying drivers.

The best eRacer from Asia, Australia and Oceania will be invited alongside the fastest from the rest of the world to compete at the eROC World Final on the brand new, Sydney track.

What Fredrik Johnsson, Race Of Champions President and Co-Founder, said:

“The eROC concept is something that we are very proud of at Race Of Champions and it is great that we have the opportunity to have the on-line element as part of our inaugural Sydney event at Accor Stadium,” said Johnsson.

“The 2025 eROC finalists will have a chance to follow in the footsteps of previous eROC winners Enzo Bonito, James Baldwin, Jarno Opmeer and Lucas Blakeley who all showed themselves extremely competitive against some of the world’s best drivers in real race cars.”

“(Enzo) Bonito famously defeated Formula E Champion Lucas Di Grassi in Mexico’s ROC Nations Cup, (James) Baldwin also took a victory for eROC All Stars and most recently Lucas Blakeley defeated Sebastian Vettel, Valtteri Bottas and Mika Hakkinen at the ROC World Final on snow and ice by the Arctic Circle in Sweden.”

“There have always been massive incentives to win the eROC competition, but to win a trip to Sydney for the inaugural ROC in the Southern Hemisphere takes it to another level.”
